Chapter Six: Eternal Salvation Solely of God (pg 14 of 29)

               f. Conversion. All of those chosen in Christ Jesus shall be converted when they are born of God's spirit. This conversion is seen in the conduct of God's children. This "conversion" is often seen in a change in life and manners when one is quickened by the spirit of God in regeneration:

Romans 3:10-11 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

Romans 7:22-23 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

1 John 4:6-7 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

Psalms 42:1-2 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?

               g. Sanctification. All of God's chosen shall be sanctified or set apart by God for his own eternal purposes and for eternal salvation. Man in nature does not set himself apart and separate from sin, but rather it is God that sets one apart and changes them by giving them spiritual life:

Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Jude 1:1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:

               h. Spirit Supporting. All of God's chosen people shall be sustained and supported by the Spirit and power of God:

Psalms 37:24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

1 Thessalonians 5:24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Isaiah 43:1-2 But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Isaiah 54:10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.

               i. Preserved by Spirit. God's children shall all be preserved in grace and not one of them shall be finally lost; but rather every one of the objects of God's love shall be with him in heaven forever. God's children are safe and secure and nothing shall ever separate them from the love which God has for them, and which he showed by sending his Son Jesus Christ to die for them on the cross. This work by Christ is finished and complete, and God the Father is satisfied with all that Christ did for his people.

Had Christ's work been imperfect, or were one of those lost for which Christ was sent to die, then God would not be pleased or satisfied; but his word says that he is satisfied and this is because all his children are saved by the blood of Christ:

John 10:27-29 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Colossians 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? ... For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Isaiah 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
